Mead was here earlier than man. In the hollow of trees where bees lived, there was rain water fermenting the honey to mead. This is the way how the first mead was made. When a curious man found it out, he enjoyed it so much so he started with its processing for his own need. In old times, the mead was considered as the source of life, wisdom, courage and strength. It was used for a toast by the ancient Celts, Germans, Romans and Slavs. Today, the mead deservedly belongs to the festal Slovak tables as a juicy alternative of various toast drinks.
